An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Structural Engineer to join a UK leading Construction Consultant based in Kent.  As the successful Structural Engineer you will work alongside other experience Structural design engineers providing a wide range of design services to both commercial and public sectors throughout the South of England.  Candidates will predominately be working on a range of Rail projects so it would be beneficial for applicants to have previous experience in the rail or construction sector.

Structural Engineering Role:-

Preparing drawings, specifications, reports and other project documentation as required in line with company and client requirements as well as national standards and codes of practice
Assisting with the preparation of documentation relating to various rail and construction projects
Liaising with Project Managers, Directors and clients to ensure they are kept informed of all developments, changes/modifications associated with the project
Stakeholder liaison both pre and post design will be necessary and the successful candidate will be involved with schemes at all stages of development, ranging in values of up to £7M (construction value).
You will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of project-related tasks to meet budget, time-frame and quality targets, meeting or exceeding client expectations

Role requirements and qualifications:-

Ideal candidates will be recently Chartered or Incorporated member of IStructE and/or ICE with a minimum of five years structural design experience however, applicants will be reviewed that are working towards Chartered (CEng) professional membership with a relevant degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Candidates should have a wide knowledge of the UK construction industry and the sectors which operate within it. A proportion or our work is within the rail sector therefore experience in this area would be advantageous but not essential.
Experience of structural design software packages is essential as is the knowledge of the BSI and Eurocodes. Training in our specific software packages will be given.
Have a full UK driving licence.
The position will be based in Folkestone but may necessitate working from other regional offices and travel to/from our construction sites nationwide, wherever the need arises. Applicants should hold a full UK driving licence.


£24,000 - £30,000, salary based upon experience
