Lamonby Recruitment have a new vacancy for a Purchasing Manager to join a specialist design and manufacturing company near Winsford, Cheshire.
The company provides specialist equipment to a range of industries but predominantly the aerospace sector. The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all procurement within the business.
Products are mostly mechanical and can range in value. It is vital that the successful Purchasing Manager has/can demonstrate strong negation skills and hold a minimum 3 years’ experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Manager within either the manufacturing or engineering sector.
Our client is looking to offer a package of £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.
Other advantages would be CIPS and experience with Sage 50 however, training will be given.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for planning production, creating manufacturing instructions and buying raw materials worldwide.
Provided with an annual spend of 3.5M.
Formulate, issue, receive and review tenders.
Negotiate prices and terms and conditions of order.
Managing materials procurement for own sites including issue and maintenance of Procurement Schedules.
Chair, scope and review meetings with supply chain and project operations/commercial team.
Identify items of financial / contractual implications and respond appropriately.
Support invoice query resolution.
Ensure regular communications and development of supplier relationships.
Role Requirements and Qualifications
Our client is looking for someone with purchasing experience within manufacturing or engineering.
Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Buyer or Purchasing Manager
The successful candidate will have strong negotiation skills and be responsible for ensuring our client gets the best deal possible when purchasing objects and materials. They will be good at building and maintaining working relationships with new and old.
Excellent communicator – both oral and written.
Excellent IT skills - including use of procurement systems
Committed and pro-active with adherence to quality.
Able to work to deadlines.
CIPS would be an advantage
Experience using Sage 50 would be an advantage
